SkyWay Excel Series
5.8 GHz MIMO 100 Mbps Throughput Link
Technology Summary
The SkyWay Excel Series, Solectek’s third-generation 5.8 GHz Broadband wireless product line, represents a quantum leap forward in meeting the ever-increasing needs for backhaul capacity across unlicensed spectrum.
Outperforming others in the market, the Excel Series is capable of delivering a full 100Mbps of usable throughput at long range. This extraordinary capability is possible through the use of an outdoor grade, 2x2 MIMO (multiple input, multiple out) radio system.
The RF packet transport of the Excel Series is optimized for high capacity links and is capable of preserving the maximum amount of throughput at long distances. Tuned frame aggregation in conjunction with Solectek’s HyperARQ™ intelligent packet retransmission makes the most of the Excel MIMO architecture and the limited spectrum.
Quality of Service (QoS) features within the SkyWay Excel architecture allow tagged voice and video traffic to take priority over general data packet transfer, providing reliable, real-time capability even under congested link conditions. Priority privileges for marked frames are maintained from port to port: Ethernet through RF.
With security remaining a key consideration in many applications, the SkyWay Excel Series delivers 128 bit AES encryption / decryption. The AES algorithm was selected to be the standard encryption method of the US Government by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In addition, the Excel Series provides up to two levels of AAA protection through the configurable use of 802.1x/Radius and RF MAC authentication.
The Excel Series PTP kits are available with integrated 23 dBi antennas, external 29 dBi antennas, or connectorized with dual N-type RF connectors.
SkyWay–LM Series
Licensed Microwave Point-to-Point Link
Technology Summary
Solectek’s SkyWay-LM Series is a flexible high capacity microwave PTP solution for mobile and private network backhaul applications.
The SkyWay-LM Series delivers a seamless combination of carrier-grade TDM and Ethernet packet data at full duplex data rates of 160 Mbps. Unlike other solutions using TDM over IP conversion systems, the SkyWay-LM uses native TDM framing. This delivers unparalleled TDM signal and frame timing accuracy to meet all carrier-grade requirements.
The system can be managed via web-based GUI, SNMP, or serial-based command line interface.
Programmability is built into the solution and the user can easily program parameters such as bandwidth, modulation, and data rates. Additional features such as FEC will insure the quality of the link condition for mission critical applications.
The flexible IDU+ODU solution allows wide frequency coverage from 6 GHz to 40 GHz to suit the need of FCC, ETSI, and other regulatory standards. Furthermore, the LM Series offers a 1+1 hot standby option to maximize system reliability.
The SkyWay-LM Series is part of Solectek’s complete wireless portfolio solution, providing backhaul transport for WiMAX last-mile access (SkyWay-MAX Series) and video surveillance networks (SkyWay 7000 Series).

SkyWay 7000 Professional Series
5.8 GHz Broadband Wireless
Technology Summary
Continuing Solectek's tradition in high throughput, long distance wireless networking, the SkyWay 7000 Professional Series builds upon the successful SkyWay Series products with a new, higher performance 5.8 GHz wireless system.
With data rates to 108 Mbps and up to 400 mW of RF power, SkyWay 7000 delivers more capacity, farther than ever before. Such capability allows end-users to download large data files, high resolution images, video clips, and MP3 files within a matter of seconds. Streaming video and multiple VoIP connections can now be delivered or backhauled seamlessly.
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology delivers a wealth of benefits: high spectral efficiency supports class leading data rates while allowing multiple, nonoverlapping channels. OFDM is also capable of robust operation in near or non-line-of-sight (NLOS) link conditions, relaxing the stringent installation requirements associated with more traditional fixed wireless equipment.
Quality of Service (QoS) features within the SkyWay 7000 architecture allow tagged voice and video traffic to take priority over general data packet transfer, providing reliable, real-time capability even under congested link conditions. Priority privileges for marked frames are maintained from port to port: Ethernet through RF.
With security remaining a key consideration in many applications, the SkyWay 7000 delivers 128 bit AES encryption / decryption at full line speed. The AES algorithm was selected to be the standard encryption method of the US Government by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Physically, the SkyWay 7000 Professional Series is fully integrated. The network engine, digital baseband, radio and antenna are all combined into a single, weatherized outdoor chassis, complete with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. Guaranteed operational from -30C to +60C, the product can be installed at any convenient outdoor location needing only inexpensive Ethernet CAT5 cable for connection to an indoor network switch.
The SkyWay 7000 is truly an enterprise class system that comes complete with full function bridge/router software and extensive network protocol and network management support.
Combining a high power, 108 Mbps OFDM radio with a high performance, QoS based bridge/router engine, the SkyWay 7000 Professional Series is a powerful, yet easy-to-use product for all of your point-to-point and multipoint broadband wireless needs.
