The L-com AL-NFNFB-9 is a gas discharge lightning arrestor for coaxial feeders, from DC to 3 GHz. Fitted between the aerial and the radio, it diverts lightning-induced surges to earth before they reach your repeater, base station or router.

Protect your radio equipment from lightning surges
Hilltop repeater sites, farm base stations and rooftop aerials are exposed to lightning. A nearby strike can induce a surge on the coax feeder that destroys a radio, repeater or cellular router. An inline lightning arrestor gives that surge a path to earth before it reaches the equipment.
Gas discharge protection, DC to 3 GHz
The L-com AL-NFNFB-9 uses a gas discharge tube that fires at 90 V and shunts the surge to the earthed body of the arrestor. Below that voltage it is transparent to the signal, with less than 0.2 dB insertion loss and a 1.5:1 VSWR from DC to 3000 MHz. One arrestor suits VHF and UHF two-way radio, LTE and cellular systems at up to 200 W.
Bulkhead or bracket mounting
The N jack to N jack bulkhead body has a rubber O-ring seal, so it can be mounted through an enclosure or building wall at the cable entry point. Or fit it with the included aluminium bracket. For the best protection, bond the arrestor to a good site earth as close as possible to where the feeder enters the building.

An arrestor works best with good earthing and careful installation. Signals NZ designs, installs and services radio sites across New Zealand.
