The Hi-Tec Aerials 5/8 wave whip aerial gives about 3 dB of gain with a low angle of radiation, for better range from a vehicle on VHF. Rugged fibreglass construction with nickel-plated fittings, made in New Zealand.

Extra range from a rugged VHF whip
The Hi-Tec Aerials 5/8 wave aerials offer a rugged and reliable design. The VHF models are built from solid 6.5 mm pultruded fibreglass rod covered in heat shrink, with nickel-plated fittings throughout.
A 5/8 wave aerial provides a nominal 3 dB of gain with a low angle of radiation, putting more of your signal towards the horizon for better range than a quarter-wave whip.
Mounting
Each aerial is a complete pre-tuned whip. It mounts either straight onto an aerial base, or onto a tilt assembly (TLT-ASY) fitted to the base, which lets the aerial fold down when not in use, for example under low garage doors or in a workshop. Mount the base on one of our vehicle aerial brackets or a magnetic mount. Contact us to add a base or tilt assembly to your order.
