Hi-Tec Aerials professional VHF collinear antennas are omnidirectional gain antennas for repeaters and base stations working with outstations in every direction. They come in 3 and 6 dBd versions, in standard or rugged builds.

All-round VHF coverage with gain
A collinear concentrates signal towards the horizon in every direction, making it the standard choice for VHF repeaters and base stations working mobiles and handhelds around a site. The internal radiating element is DC grounded and housed in a high-dielectric fibreglass radome to minimise precipitation and wind static for low-noise operation. Stainless steel radials are fitted to the hub above the mounting section.
Choosing a model
- Gain: 3 dBd (34° vertical beamwidth, 2.2–2.6 m tall) suits hilltop sites with users below. 6 dBd (15°, 2.8–3.5 m tall) gives more range over flat terrain or from lower sites.
- Standard or rugged: the standard COL models have a tapered radome in gloss white. The RG models have a parallel radome in matte black, rated above 215 km/h wind.
- Band: 118–125 or 125–136 MHz (airband), 138–144, 151–156, 156–162 (marine) or 162–170 MHz.
Standard build and customisation
As standard, each antenna has a 0.5 m RG213 tail with an N plug and no clamp. You can customise:
- Cable type and length: see our coax cable range
- Connector: N plug or N jack (see connectors)
- Mounting: the heavy-duty Universal Clamp is recommended for a vertical or horizontal support
