VHF Shrouded Dipole
$981.94 inc GST
The Hi-Tec Aerials PRO-SHDV is a rugged professional VHF shrouded dipole with a reduced surface area, ideal for harsh, iced and marine sites. The element is shrouded in pultruded fibreglass with black heat shrink to help shed ice, and it is DC grounded to reduce precipitation static.
- Eight tuned bands from 75–80 MHz to 162–170 MHz, including airband and marine
- 100 W, 8 MHz (75–80) or 20 MHz bandwidth
- Heavy-duty element-to-boom casting on a 48 mm grade 6000 aluminium boom
- Supplied with a 1 m RG213 tail and N plug, no clamp. Cross clamps recommended
- Customisable: cable type, cable length, connector and mounting
A tough VHF dipole for harsh sites
The PRO-SHDV is built for exposed hilltop, coastal and marine sites. The dipole element is shrouded in a pultruded fibreglass radome sheathed with black heat shrink to help shed ice. The element is DC grounded to reduce precipitation static. The centre feed exits through a heavy-duty element-to-boom casting, fixed to a 48 mm OD × 4.5 mm grade 6000 aluminium boom with three radial bolts, with the RG213 coax running down the centre of the boom.
Choose your band
Select the band that covers your channels: 75–80, 118–136 (airband), 138–144, 138–170, 151–156, 151–170, 156–162 (marine) or 162–170 MHz. The 75–80 MHz version has a longer 1.8 m radome and 1.5 m boom. All other bands use a 1.0 m radome and 1.0 m boom.
The dipole has a vertical radiation pattern. You can offset the pattern by spacing it a set distance from a metal support or by adding a reflector. Ask us for advice on your site.
Standard build and customisation
As standard, the PRO-SHDV comes with a 1 m RG213 tail with an N plug and no clamp. Mount it with our small or large cross clamp to a rigging pipe or mast. You can customise the cable type and cable length (see coax cable), the connector (N plug or N jack, see connectors) and the mounting. Contact us for a quote on a custom configuration.
