The Hi-Tec Aerials mini 1/2 wave UHF aerial has a very small profile for modern vehicles and needs no ground plane, so it can be mounted almost anywhere, including non-metallic surfaces. Made in New Zealand.

A compact UHF aerial for modern vehicles
Hi-Tec Aerials mini half-wave aerials have a very small profile, ideal for modern vehicles. The end-fed design removes the need for a ground plane, so the aerial can be mounted in any position on a vehicle and suits non-metallic surfaces. Raising the mounting point to clear body panels can further improve performance.
The base is 80 mm tall and 16 mm in diameter, made from nickel-plated brass with a black fibreglass centre section housing the impedance matching circuit. It mounts on its 12 mm stud or onto a stainless steel vehicle aerial bracket. Each aerial is stamped with its model on the base for identification.
The radiating element is a 2.7 mm stainless steel whip, or choose the 3 dB collinear element formed from black epoxy-coated stainless steel wire for extra gain. The collinear element is also available separately (W1/2COL3).
Models
Choose a model with a 5 m RG58 tail (unterminated, no bracket) for a permanent install, or a PL259 base to screw onto an existing mount. The M1/2WB-U wideband covers 420–520 MHz on a PL259 base. The M1/2UC3 collinear on a PL259 base is available on request.
You can change to RG58 low-loss or RG174 cable, change the cable length, add a bracket or connector (see connectors), or order the base only with no whip. Contact us for a custom configuration.
