The Icom IC-A25CE is a next-generation VHF airband handheld with 6 W PEP output, a 2.3-inch high-visibility display, built-in GPS, 8.33/25 kHz channel spacing and IP57 dust and water protection. The IC-A25NE version adds Bluetooth for hands-free headsets, VOR navigation and GPS waypoint and flight plan navigation.
The Icom IC-A25CE redefines the ground-to-air handheld. It transmits at around 6 W PEP (1.8 W carrier), up from the 5 W of the IC-A24E, and its 2.3-inch high-contrast LCD stays readable in direct sunlight, with large frequency characters and a night mode for low light. The flat-sheet keypad gives direct access to common functions, and the 121.5 MHz emergency key gets you onto the distress frequency instantly.
Built-in GPS powers the near station search, which finds nearby ground stations from your programmed station memories. The intelligent BP-288 battery gives up to 10.5 hours of operation and shows detailed battery status, and the supplied BP-289 case lets you run the radio on six AA alkaline batteries in the field.
