The Hi-Tec Aerials HD1/2 heavy duty half-wave aerial is a rugged VHF vehicle antenna that needs no ground plane, so it can be mounted almost anywhere on a vehicle, on non-metallic surfaces or on a building. Made in New Zealand.

A rugged half-wave aerial that mounts almost anywhere
Hi-Tec Aerials' heavy duty half-wave aerial is available in a range of VHF frequencies, and can also be built for customer-designated frequencies. The end-fed voltage feed design removes the need for a ground plane, so the aerial can be mounted in any position on a vehicle, giving better performance than aerials that are poorly located.
The impedance matching circuit sits inside the rugged nylon base, making a very strong, reliable and efficient unit. The base mounts on its 12 mm stud or on our range of stainless steel vehicle aerial brackets. It also suits non-metallic surfaces and base station use, mounting easily to buildings with a fascia mount and bracket.
Each base is black and is marked on top with its band or frequency. On the low and FM bands a whip extender is fitted.
Ordering
Choose the frequency band. As standard each aerial comes with a 5 m RG58 coax tail, unterminated, and the matching whip, with no bracket. The tail is easily replaced if damaged in service. You can choose a different cable length, add an FME connector (see connectors), add a bracket, or order the base only with no whip. Contact us for a custom configuration or another frequency.
The low band (75–80 MHz) and FM band (88–96 and 96–108 MHz) versions are made to order. Contact us for pricing.
