GME on-glass UHF CB antennas mount on the vehicle’s glass with no drilling, no bull bar and no ground plane needed. The AE5002 has a slim external whip that couples through the glass, while the transparent AE5003 and AE5004 mount inside the windscreen for a covert install with no wind noise and nothing to steal. UHF CB without drilling the vehicle

On-glass antennas are the tidy choice for company cars, leased and hire vehicles, and anyone who doesn't want holes in the roof or a bull bar mount. GME's on-glass range is pre-tuned to 477 MHz and ground independent, so there's no tuning and no ground plane to worry about.

The AE5002 uses an under-glass coupling box bonded inside the window and a slim spring steel whip bonded outside, directly over it. The signal passes through the glass, and the whip unscrews for the car wash. The AE5003 and AE5004 are transparent antennas that mount on the inside of the windscreen, so they're almost invisible from outside, can't be stolen or vandalised, and create no wind noise. They're ideal where a covert or unobtrusive install is needed.

Installation tips

  • Mount high and centred on the front or rear glass, at least 14 cm from metal edges.
  • Keep clear of heater, demister and embedded antenna wires, and avoid heavily curved glass.
  • On the windscreen, keep out of the driver's view and the wiper sweep.
  • Metallised aftermarket tint can reduce performance. For the AE5002, GME recommends removing a 40 × 40 mm patch of tint at the mounting point.
  • Apply between 20°C and 40°C and allow the adhesive to cure before use (AE5002: 24 hours, up to 48 hours below 15°C).
