The Icom IC-M94D is a floating VHF marine handheld with a built-in AIS receiver, Class H DSC and GPS. See nearby vessel traffic on screen, send a distress call from the rear Distress button, and navigate to saved waypoints, with 5 W output, loud 1500 mW audio and around 10 hours of battery life.
The Icom IC-M94D puts AIS traffic information, DSC and GPS into one handheld. The integrated AIS receiver shows nearby vessels on a plotter-style screen, and the AIS target call function lets you set up a DSC individual call to a selected vessel in a few presses. For skippers, safety boats and anyone heading offshore, it adds a real layer of safety on top of a standard handheld.
A dedicated Distress button on the rear panel sends a DSC distress call with your GPS position. If the radio goes overboard it floats and its screen, keys and Distress button flash so you can find it, and pressing Distress while Float'n Flash is active sends a man-overboard (MOB) alert. A simplified navigation function guides you to up to 50 saved waypoints.
