VHF Folded Dipole
Price range: $313.95 through $344.22 inc GST
The Hi-Tec Aerials FDV is a standard series VHF folded dipole: a light, cost-effective base antenna for urban and rural sites that can be mounted on low-cost supports. It’s made in New Zealand from silver-anodised grade 6000 aluminium.
- Eight bands from 75–80 to 162–170 MHz, 10 MHz bandwidth
- 0 dBd (unity gain), omnidirectional when mounted clear of the mast
- Light (1.4 kg) and compact, 1.5 m boom, rear mounted
- Matching section sealed in the driven element, no external balun
- Supplied with a 1 m RG58 tail and N plug, no clamp
- Customisable: cable type, cable length, connector and mounting
A light, reliable VHF base antenna
The FDV is designed for urban and farm base station installs where a simple, robust antenna is all that's needed. It is light with a small projected area, so it can go on a low-cost mast, bracket or fascia mount. It is made from grade 6000 aluminium with a silver anodised finish for corrosion resistance. The 12.7 × 1.42 mm extruded element is clamped to a 25 × 25 mm square boom with cast aluminium clamps and stainless hardware, so it ships as a compact kitset.
The nominal feed impedance is 50 Ω, with the matching section sealed inside the driven element, so no external balun or matching device is needed.
Ordering
The FDV is available in eight bands from 75–80 MHz to 162–170 MHz, each with a 10 MHz bandwidth. As standard it comes with a 1 m RG58 tail, an N plug and no clamp. You can customise the cable (see coax cable), connector (see connectors) and mounting (mounting clamps or saddle clamps). Contact us for a quote on a custom configuration.
